Monet’s House – La Maison de Monet
The house is located in France, in the Normandy region – a large area in the western part of Paris. One of the most enchanting places in the world that is highly recommended to visit.
Monet lived in the house in Giverny from 1883 to 1926. Monet, like a true artist, left his colorful mark in his home as well. When entering the house the heart expands. The warm colors stand out, the artist’s famous yellow dominates the dining room and the doors and shutters are painted green.
Anyone who grew up on the stories about the great master, one of the founders of Impressionism, will be deeply moved to be in his house and feel the energies where he lived and created.
The fascinating gardens surrounding the house are the highlight of the visit. For a moment we feel like part of one of the master’s artworks, walking on the famous Japanese bridge from Monet’s paintings. The flowers, the water lilies in the pond, the peace and tranquility around us make the experience truly worthwhile.
Oscar Claude Monet, a French painter and one of the founders of the Impressionist movement, painted mostly landscapes with short rich brushstrokes. The “Impressionists,” instead of trying to “photograph” the details in their paintings, painted the way they were impressed by reality – that is, their impression of it. The Impressionists often painted the world in bright colors with quick brushstrokes.
